based on a research project lasting several years, this richly illustrated volume shows the history of the reception of the bauhaus and its global impact for the first time to this extent. the focus is on the reciprocal exchange of the bauhaus, its students and teachers with non-european developments of modernism such as in india, china, russia, brazil and the usa.
