poster: self portrait of marianne brandt

marianne brandt is famous for her metal works. among these are silver service sets or ashtrays which belong to the design highlights of the bauhaus today.  

in her photographic work, too, her enthusiasm for metal, for reflections and light reflections is visible again and again. mirrored spheres continue to appear in her photos, reflecting the surrounding space.

in this photograph, marianne brandt herself can be seen with her camera, to her left the window of her studio in the bauhaus dessau with its balconies. the surroundings of the bauhaus, at that time still not very built-up, lie under snow.
