moving forward. design and prize winner for the new bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung

the bauhaus-archiv / museum für gestaltung gets an extension on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of its founding.  whilst the existing building houses an archive, study hall/library as well as rooms for cultural education and events, the new building houses exhibition rooms for the bauhaus collection as well as for various special exhibition formats. the construction project is financed in equal parts by the state of berlin and the federal government. the winner was decided in october 2015 architectural competition organised by the state of berlin.
