cylinda line salad bowl – design arne jacobsen

the large bowl of the cylinda line by jacobsen gives an idea of the high technical demands that need to be placed on the making of cylinda line to produce the perfectly uniform bodies. the inner wall is a semi-sphere, the outer wall is a cylinder and both forms merge into one wall thickness at the upper edge of the vessel. the body of the bowl, which is closed at the bottom, is completely seamless. contrasts support the design language: the inner hemisphere is juxtaposed with the horizontally brushed cylinder of the outer skin. the salad servers complement the bowl. equipped with a semi-sphere for gripping and a circle for holding, it strictly follows the shape of the bowl.
