wall clock max bill | bar dial large – design max bill

in 1956, max bill designed two wall clocks for the junghans company. they correspond to max bill's idea of building usable objects with a primarily central function. here, a dial contains filigree strokes, whereby the hours are clearly segmented. a quick glance is all it takes.

the number dial is divided by the hour numbers, which were also designed by max bill. none of this seems spectacular, and it shouldn't be. the restrained graphic design of the clocks seems to disappear into the wall with its beautiful simplicity. the wall clocks are available in 22cm and 30cm diameters.
