the bauhaus is taking off ! that's what you might think when you look at marguerite friedlaender-wildenhain's small mug from 1930. educated at the state bauhaus in weimar, friedlaender-wildenhain taught at the burg griebichenstein academy of art in halle. in 1930 she designed this cup and saucer. the special feature: the cup fits perfectly into a ring-shaped recess in the saucer and cannot slip back and forth, which proves to be particularly helpful when traveling by plane, train or ship. the re-edition of this remarkable ring mocca cup is provided by the berlin kpm. the world-famous royal blue sceptre mark of the royal porcelain manufactory is clearly visible on the top of the saucer and gives this piece its unique touch.
